FWIW...

I always keep my virus definitions current (weekly checks). That applies for my personal computers at home, as well as the entire network system at work.

I never did bother with Norton Anti-virus rescue disks though. I've always had my own custom-made repair disks for various OS's, and found the Norton ones quite cumbersome the first time I looked at them.

That said, I do have a few boot disks I use with current anti-virus software on them. Never know when they'll come in handy. Thing is, when working on basic network machines, blowing away the OS and re-installing from backup is often faster, and less tedious than an anti-virus sweep.
