FWIW, I still think you are missing what might be even more valuable to the market: an instant-on PC. If you've ever used a laptop, you know the irritation of waiting on it to be ready to work. Even the so-called suspend modes require too much time to unsuspend AND they burn up power anyway.

Your OUM (if viable and cost effective) could solve this problem, making a much more desirable end product. And using it for this purpose (replacing DRAM) would not require process compatibility with the host processor (which replacing on-chip cache does).
