Cacaito, didn't you read my last post? I wasn't talking about EXOTOXIN being released in the gut!!!!!! I was talking about GRAM NEG BUGS IN THE BLOODSTREAM PRODUCING ENDOTOXIN NOT EXOTOXIN!!!!!!!!!!! Here it is again>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cacaito, what about my theory of BPI synergy with antibiotics might be main event binding distance secondary event? Of course not talking exotoxin binding. My theory is that when added to antibiotics you get much faster and EFFECTIVE killing of offending bug. Therefore you shut down progeny generation at a much faster rate preventing any significant endotoxin. You know just minor infections take 7 to ten days of antibiotics. I have heard stories that when penicillin was first used all it took was one or two injections to cure severe cases of infections. WHY? I would assume because the offending agent didn't have any resistance and therefore was eliminated very rapidly and effectively therefore no load up of cell layer parts in sufficient quantities(speaking here of gram neg bugs) triggering cascade. I agree with you now on Meningo. data. Xoma needs backbone to release it now.<<<<<<
