My opinion: No. Greenspan is a legitimate public figure whose comments have a direct influence over the market -- like it or not, when he speaks, the market does react. This is different than a faked fax or FUD from a small time short posting on a thread. An institutional transaction large enough to affect stock price isn't going to take place on the basis of anything said on a thread. But a small time individual investor who doesn't know better might react to some goofy statement from an unscrupulous short.

And Greenspan isn't necessarily dangerous to investors. If an individual here correctly observes a pattern between Greenspan's comments and corresponding market reactions, then he can profit from it.
