I don't live in that part of the country. I came across the article, and since there was some discussion of the skyrocketing real estate prices in SV, I posted it.

BTW, I live in the other part of the country that is seeing similar "irrational exuberance" in the real estate prices - Manhattan, and the rest of the NY, NJ, CT Tri-State area.

These are not measured in CPI, but in some parts of the country, namely NYC and SV, the housing costs can make up 1/4 to even 1/2 of disposable income. If the prices of the same houses / apartments double in 2 to 5 years, what is the resulting inflation? (Hint: It's not 3%)
