I haven't been following this thread but, . . . Jeffrey just stated he was writing calls. This is a synthetic short. He's selling calls now, in the anticipation of buying them back cheaper sometime in the future. . . . I believe a synthetic put would involve buying a put along with writing the call. Conversly, a synthetic long would be to write the put and buy the call. Dave
