These are not measured in CPI, but in some parts of the country, namely NYC and SV, the housing costs can make up 1/4 to
even 1/2 of disposable income. If the prices of the same houses / apartments double in 2 to 5 years, what is the resulting
inflation? (Hint: It's not 3%)

The rising house prices (combined with rising morgage rates) has hurt me. Houses in Northern VA are not as expensive as NYC or SV, but the three bedroom townhouses that I was looking at a few months ago for about $125k are now $140k. And that is the listed price, they tend to sell for above that. One house was listed at $112k I bid $120k and it went for over $150k. With the new prices and higher rates I wonder if I will qualify for a morgage. I might need to count on AMD going up so I can make a larger down payment...
