I tend to prefer dry or wry humor. So I particularly
enjoyed hearing a 50ish Englishwoman speak recently.
She was a British columnist until she upgraded to Texan
20 years ago when she met a Texas man on an airline
flight and married him 2 weeks later.

She spoke for about an hour on the general subject of
the last 100 years of the royal family. The humor came
in colloquialisms that "sound funny" and the phrasings
and voice inflections that are unique to the English.

And no, E, I can't give specific examples that would
"translate" effectively here. <g>
