Greed is one of many factors. I believe a fair number of heavily margined gamblers (I say gamblers because reasonable DD would have saved them) have been washed out of the market for a bit.

Many of the remaining will look for that daily twenty percenter, as before. But reason and risk will succeed, even in a bear market... desire, alone, cannot.
