Kit and Kaboodle....

The piece by Nikki Giovanni has certain attributes similar to the meaning of a song by Jewel titled Painters (if memory serves), only more concise.

-----------------------

Nor can I relate to paying someone to read something I've written, knowing so many others write so much better than I. But I do like what I write even if others don't or are bent on pointing out the mediocrity of them. But I can relate to a desire to be heard, lest why would I or anyone post pieces to a place such as this? Thank goodness some place can serve as a store house for such vanities.

------------------------------

Something that is love turned into an act. That's were it began. The writing turned into something for the act and not for the love.

Not sure I follow, but speaking for myself of course, I had an initial desire to write lyrics, and creative writing became the product which filled that need. I love it when I am so moved I must set everything aside and make time to formulate a thought or thoughts onto paper for no other reason than the satisfaction of simply doing so. I have had little success at writing something because someone wished to have something which they were under the impression I could do and put into words which they believed they could not.

------------------------------------

I guess you know there wasn't a whole lot I could say after my initial response elsewhere regarding #88 (hope you get it). It wasn't until the [edit] (posted first, then read the following messages) that I read the post with the link and subsequently learned it was a piece of mine which you were referencing. I had forgotten about the piece, but was ultimately grateful that you used it as a reference point, and then quietly horrified that you have probably read the entire thread. I have posts here which I would rather forget ever having posted.

--------------------------------------

And thank you for carrying the ball sort of speak by posting pieces to the thread from other writer's. This is one thread which I have, though not always, enjoyed reading more than any other.

I don't read much outside of what I read here. I have more of a love for the act, than the desire to read what is out there. Never-the-less, I'm glad you're posting them because I'm reminded I'm missing a lot of good reading (not that it will change much as far as my own expanded reading goes mind you.<g>)

-----------------------------------

Lastly, to those who wonder if anyone is reading the submissions by various posters, I do, and most usually I enjoy them regardless of subject nature (unless the piece(s) blatantly offend my own philosophies).

Hope all is well with all,

Mike
