If you use QP2 the data CD from Metstock is irrelevant. You'll be using Data from QP2 instead. Do you have QP2 setup correctly? By that I mean can you pull up a chart using the QP2 chart display program? Assumong that much works, you need to tell QP2 to export data to Metastock format. I'm not going to try to go into detail on that since I didn't upgrade to the latest and greatest version of QP2 nor did I ever use MS virtual files. ( virtual is just a fancier way of letting metastock use QP2 data without having a second copy of teh data on your hard drive )
