Chinese press seems to think everything is moving along with CDMA. Wonder where the major disconnect is. I would think "face" is important to the Chinese. They would unlikely sign agreements and then back off and the press and communications minister would be unlikely to make statements re CDMA implementation if there is no intent to follow through.

Could be China wants to implement next generation and may be waiting for QCOMs CDMA-GSM dual band chip set. Another problem is the availability of handset components. How can the Chinese companies spool up production if there is a shortage of key handset components?
