Could it be that DDR is more expensive that RDRAM <ggg>? From our friends on Yahoo:

Then select the upgrade to 64Mb DDR from 32Mb for $240. That's $240 extra for 32Mb of DDR or $960 for 128Mb.

A 128Mb PC800 RDRAM costs $400 or less than half that. And that's the ECC version. Non-ECC is $350. And RDRAM PCs are stable fast and real while DDR PCs are expensive unstable and still vaporware. And RDRAM prices continue to drop at a 14% pace a month. Just wait till Willy, 400Mhz and dual channel hits the streets. Willy with SSE is 10x faster than anything out there. All software will require Willy, Intel SSE instructions, and Intel CPUs. AMD is dead.
