Pravin Re...<<<<<I would like to believe that Thunderbird is at 1.5 Ghz with 70% yield, but common sense tells us that this is not possible. It's a wonderful rumor to dream about, though.

Pravin, while I don't have the engineering background you do, I tend to believe 1.5 ghz and 70% rumor. Why, no. 1 when Chic joined the board in March he talked about the tbird being whispered around IBM as having a better chip than the new Willy. Apparently both were sampled at IBM and it was whispered around the offices that Tbird was the better chip. 2) Tbird was best of show going head to head against Willy at Cebit. 3) Sander's has been saying for months now that yields are better at Dresden and he has been promising us Mustang would be competitive with Willy. 4) IBM has been rumored to be hitting the 70% mark with copper at their new plant.

Im not saying they are going to sell the 1.5 immediately, but they might easily announce its sampling and introduction at a future date.
