I don't think an ideological rant is a very good source of information, regardless of the ideology concerned. I do not generally read editorial pages or opinion sites. I would rather read news and make up my own mind. It is also a good idea, when evaluating a new source of news, to see what they have to say about an issue you know something about. I looked at what the New American has to say about China - something I do know something about - and I see know reason to believe anything they say about anything else. It's just too much work to sift out all of the ideology-driven nonsense.
