SFY, ENE, WGR.. all moving nicely, and the rest of the energy stocks are not new economy but have been moving up quite nicely. PENG is one I'm following and would likie to enter after a pullback. Since we posted our energy stocks they have increased from 25 to 30%... All this when new economy stocks were moving down more and more except for the 1-2 day rallies that were actually rather remarkable. charts and even earnings don't mean much in the short term when buying is nil and top stocks are pulling back. Its for the long term that the good earners will shine.

Like Freeway Ramp posted a while back, money is moving from technology to energy and back to technology and I'll be in the energy sector holding on for cumulative gains over weeks with occasional jaunts into technology. One is not as profitable without the other. Shorting/Going long technology on pullbacks/rallies on one hand AND holding on to the 'favored' sectors will assure you gains both in the slower moving but nonetheless excellent energy stocks.

I'm still trading the new economy and will be eager to pick up some tech stocks with good earnings but I'm not holding my breath and waiting around for them. I'd rather make solid and sure money in other sectors while I bide my time to reenter the techs with more than a few hundred shares left on the table here and there.
