Hello Milo,

Re: FWIW Scumbria I got this Email about Dresden.

At the start let me state that I have no idea whether the 'German Rumor" is true or false.

However, I have just been thinking some. Why did AMD decide shortly after the arrangements for the annual meeting were completed to ask shareholders to vote to increase the number of shares? I remember it seemed almost like an afterthought. Could it have been that the Board of Directers learned of recent spectacular news (from Dresden)?

Also, if there's any truth to the rumors, I can't think of a better way for AMD to capture that 10th stubborn OEM than to offer a 1.5 GHz TBird. That would be an offer that would be impossible to refuse.

Remeber how confident Jerry has been that AMD would retain MHz leadership this year? If the rumor is true, one can understand his confidence.

The strange thing about all this is AMD is the kind of company where such rumors aren't necessarily unbelievable, i.e., they're fool'in around in the right area and who knows what those folks can (or can't) come up with. I do understand the prudence of remaining a skeptic and the truth will be known in a few days.

Any thoughts???

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
