If Korea dumps cdma2000, will DDI reneg...again? So QCOM must lower royalties--who do you think can take the pain of lower royalties better? NOK and ERICY, which have major manufacturing businesses; or QCOM, which is supposed to receive $20BB in royalties circa 2010 according to Pie-check. LOL

QCOM, as an American company, cannot grease the wheels in Seoul by making bribery payments and then write them off. Instead, they will have to win their business the old-fashioned way--by being cheap. Does not look good.

Who's next? If Korea goes W-cDMA and DDI re-renegs, perhaps Sprint would be interested in W-CDMA as well.

Meanwhile, Samsung, the major IS-95 handset maker, is getting into the GSM biz. Now why do a thing like that if CDMA is taking over the world?
