Anybody follow Cree Research?

I would like to hear anybody's thoughts on a future semi-slowdown effecting Cree. Assuming there is a semi-slowdown (historically effecting stocks like amat & intc), would this effect Cree in the same manner? Cree is strong in the blue LED & wafer markets (i.e., for research & universities), which is a separate segment than the traditional semi company (i.e., pmcs).

Am I correct in assuming that Cree is protected from any semi-slowdown due to its current monopolistic product lines?

There isn't a semi slow down right now, but I would like to hear views on how this could impact Cree in the future. The book-to-bill ratio is 1.42 (semiconductoronline.com). for the semis, so I don't see any slowdown for the next 18 months at least.

My own opinion is that Cree is a unique company, in that it offers blue LED's to many manufacturers - and this revenue base should only increase in time due to the proliferation of PDA's and electronics in general.

Thanks for any feedback. advalorem
