2 point something years in the US. In less than rosy times, that goes above 8 years some article I recently read was saying, although that number seems mighty high. In any event, there could be a real economic drought if new car ideas are put on the back burner, the one that is broken. -g-

The old saying Russell was referring to may not have quite the importance today, but it is more a change in shades of gray than new vs old economy. GM (and Ford, etc.) is still a mighty big economic machine that feeds a lot of out stretched hands.
