the scanreg* tool looks like the easiest way to both backup AND restore the win98 registry....* "Windows 98 In addition to the above mentioned ways to backup your registry, you can also use the build-in Scanreg tool to make a backup of your Windows 98 registry: Making a Backup of the Registry using Scanreg: If you're running in Windows, select Start > Run and in the Open box type scanreg /backup Please note that you won't notice anything, but the backup is made. You can check the (default) \Windows\Sysbackup folder to check. If you're running in MS-DOS mode type: scanreg /backup, at the prompt, this will backup your registry Scanreg can be customized to include other files to backup.
