I suppose that it could be attributed to the constant parade of hot air balloons over the farm, but our livestock have become exceedingly.....unresponsive... to most airborne objects.... including F18s, Harriers, Migs, or just about anything else that flies at low level over our place during the air show at the beginning of July. I used to worry about stampedes as accompaniment to sonic booms, but there is nary a flicked ear at such things..... BUT.... let a empty white plastic shopping bag blow in from across the fields and... HOO BOY!!! ... horses and goats scattering in every direction... Every animal for him/herself as the frightening beastie comes roaring across the field...riding along on the breeze... My Star Kite nets the same response... Horses and goats fearfully racing around the barnyard trying to hide from the dreaded thing as it hovers around above my head out in the field... Horses stamp and whinny and then madly rush from field to field... while goats do their trumpeting snort and dodge inside the barn to hide until the ordeal is over with...

Go figure that, eh?
