cuf,

<< I played golf today with a dear friend >>

I played yesterday with a Northeast legend, Joe Aneda.

Joe is our 2nd assistant Golf Pro. He retired as head pro long before I joined here 14 years ago, after 30 years tenure.

He broke his age as usual, shooting 84. Joe is 90.

Joe works at the club every day after taking a swim at the Y, still runs junior golf, and concludes every day with 2 man sized martini's served "up & down" in the upstair's lounge.

On the wall in the clubhouse is a large framed black and white photo of Joe following through off the tee. The swing looks like Slamming Sammy's but Joe was a heck of a lot handsomer than Sam Snead. I will have a print of that photo one of these days.

I shot 4 strokes better than my handicap. No advice from Joe, he's just a great steadying influence to play with.

<< I'm quitting golf but not investing >>

Neither one of us are quitting either.
