Juilus, Thanks for a great thread. I think it would add another dimension to the thread to also discuss the criteria being used for scans. Because, it's tough to find stocks breaking out in a down market.

I'm using TC2000, & I'm using a scan written by a fellow SI member. It's called Richard's Buy scan. and is as follows

(C-C5/C5)>.05 AND V>AVGV63 ANDC>(.85*maxC250)

It's obviously a very basic scan, but it's a starting point. I've tried running volume surge scans & percentage change scans. It might help to exchange ideas on different scanning methods...
