Well, as far as I can see, that "pure profit" is pretty much pie in the sky, at this point. What I do see look more like pure Amazon plays. The more subscribers they get, the more money they lose -- especially DISH, which, on top of it all, has the most humungous debt load I personally have ever seen.

The point is that they aren't charging enough to cover their costs. DISH is trying to take GMH out by charging even less, and frankly I don't see how it will ever repay its creditors, even if it does succeed in achieving this questionable goal.

Nothing is ever a sure thing, even when-- or rather, especially when -- "the street" says it is.
