Now that I think about it, this may be the root of the company's problems: could the management be confusing their customers with their shareholders? Personally, I am one of those stodgy old folks that A&F used to cater to. And I don't care to see naked young men displaying their pecs on the cover of a "serious" Annual Report. I am interested in the numbers, not in the figures, if you will excuse the play on words. In any event, I don't expect A&F to come to life again soon. For some reason, the stock market seems to be tougher on retailers than on companies in other fields of endeavor, and I have never quite understood why. The usual explanations do not satisfy. jbe
