I thought some of you regulars here would like to hear how I spent my extended weekend. I played 171 holes of golf over the past five days (of which 45 were played on the first day and the last three days I played 36 each time). I went down to the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama. Everything you've heard is true, the courses are terrific. Seven friends of mine and I stayed in Birmingham and starting on Thursday played the courses at Oxmoor Valley, Silver Lakes, and Gasden. Oxmoor Valley's Ridge course is as visually impressive as any tract I've personally seen off of sea shore. The elevation changes are unbelievable and the tracts are tough. You'll need a good game there to post a number. The prices there are outstanding values when compared to Florida or Myrtle Beach. One of my friends has minor tour experience and he thought the Judge in Gadsden was as difficult of a golf course as he has ever played. I would highly recommend anyone considering a golf trip to look into the RTJ Trial.
