Tenor Networks and Jabil Circuit Announce Manufacturing Partnership
Tenor Teams with Worldwide Electronics Manufacturing Service Provider to Deliver Industry's First Optical Service Switch
ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2000-- Tenor Networks, the leading provider of communications equipment that offers Service Intelligence for Optical Networks(TM) and Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBL - news), a premier global manufacturer of electronic circuit boards and systems, today announced its manufacturing partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, Jabil Circuit will manufacture Tenor's TN250G Optical Service Switch (OSX) in its new Billerica, Massachusetts facility. Tenor's TN250G is the industry's first OSX designed to enable Network Service Providers (NSPs) to leverage the growing abundance of optical bandwidth by delivering highly differentiated services over the optical network.
``To ensure success, quality and reliability need to be an integral component of the design and manufacturing process from the very beginning,'' said David Tolwinski, president and CEO of Tenor Networks. ``Jabil's expertise, state-of-the art assembly and test processes, and proven track record for production and distribution of industry-leading networking products make them an ideal partner for Tenor.''
Steve Anderson, vice president of manufacturing at Tenor added, ``Jabil's model of engaging early in the design process and providing design services in key areas such as circuit layout, results in accelerated time to market, ensures high quality, and provides predictable product availability. This methodology is well matched with Tenor's design and manufacturing strategy, which enabled us to form a solid manufacturing partnership.'' |
