Literacy isn't the only thing that isn't prized. Life itself isn't prized much. Apathy is the norm. Why should they worry, they're on welfare, someone else will take care of them. . . . . . . . You don't know it yet, but when you advocate welfare what you are promoting is a system to keep people from ever reaching their potential as humans. If there is no reason to struggle where is the motivation to become a productive part of society? You say they are denied opportunity but by providing them welfare you actually are cutting them off from opportunity, and you are facilitating in cutting off their children from opportunity. . . . . . . What most welfare advocates don't realize, or don't want to admit, is that welfare has actually destroyed a large part of the social fabric of Black Americans.
