I don't think a parts shortage is such a big deal. I recall that Apple said last fall it would miss the quarter because of parts shortages--Motorola was not delivering chips fast enough. The stock did go down (where I bought it) but then it recovered very strongly when it became apparent that the demand for Apples new products was really strong. A parts shortage is short-term and unless a company is going to lose market share permanently because of it, I doubt that would explain the weakness in RIMM. RIMM has been in a steady slide since the mid to low $40s in mid April.
