Lucius, as usual you are making very astute comments.

One thing to add is that generally, bear-type markets make a few false starts, so by the time it is clear that we are in fact off the bottom and not in a "bull trap" the market will likely be up quite a bit. Especially with the volatility it has shown. That is why it is so difficult to buy at the bottom, and so easy to let good buying opportunities slip by.
