Pls explain to me how Intel, on one hand, complains of a chip shortage and then turns around and lowers prices again.

Intel has explained that their customers have a certain expectation for price points, so as higher speed grades come into the market and lower speeds go down to the mainstream, they adjust the prices to reflect the market segment of the PC.

IMHO, recent Intel price cuts have been more modest and infrequent than I ever remember. A good thing for both companies.
