Why do you say there are indications that the demand for gold is about to abate? And why do you think producers are divorced from reality - when it is you who are? The producers know what the price is - spot and forward - and have to live or die within that reality - some will die - some will prosper. As I've said before, we may be faced with a low price for some time - that is reality. The dynamics of the industry are such that a cartel, production restrictions, etc., are not possible. And at this rate of production major finds will have to be made to replace reserves - I'm not talking about finds already made - but new finds. It may not be possible to keep it up. The POG has factored in production coming on stream in the next few years IM(H)O.
