John Dvorak talks about I-Link ! John Dvorak's Inside Track, PCMag, June 27th, page 91 ... "Free Phone Calls for you Dept: While I'm on the subject of telephony, if you want to keep up with the latest trends don't hesitate to visit Jeff Pulver's site. pulver.com. What's interesting about his site is that it's not only a broad view of the telecom scene, but it links to various Net-to-phone schemes, including a link to a beta site that lets you make a free long-distance call from phone to phone. This service is called V-Link and comes from I-Link, but the link is buried for beta use only (as of this writing). Pulver has it, though. Link from there. The way this works is that you enter your phone number and the number you wish to call into fields at the Web site. The system then rings your phone, and when you pick up it rings the phone you wish to call.
