I'd be the last person to contest the notion that economic freedom generates economic success. I would dispute, however, the notion that socialists are the only ones out there that are restricting economic freedom. They are not: feudal states do exactly the same thing, with exactly the same consequences. Our policies toward feudal states, though, have traditionally been very different from our policies toward socialist states. Why do you suppose that is?
