Billy, Thanks for the microdrive posts... ...and for probing deeply into the crevices of the Internet. You are going to read about reports of this nature on user message boards long before you read about it in a photo magazine or before IBM puts a 1 year warranty on the product (or will it be 6 months?). Spending $379.00 on a 340MB microdrive seems like a waste of money unless you are planning to do a couple hundred photos in one shoot. For an average consumer this price does not justify the purchase. Let's face it, it practically doubles the price of a moderate resolution digital camera. Even a 2.1 megapixel camera with low to intermediate image compression creates files in the 500KB range. That makes a 64MB CompactFlash a wonderful deal.
