JENNA, do you know DALN in Boca? Up $2.75 at $16.50 BOCA RATON, Fla., May 31, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Companies to provide end-to-end data collection, mediation, customer management and billing solution for convergent service providers
Daleen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:DALN), a leading provider of eBusiness solutions, and Computer Generation, Inc. (CGI), an international firm, specializing in telecommunications systems products and data processing services announced today their world-wide alliance to deliver a fully integrated customer management and billing solution for the IP voice and data market. CGI is a Daleen Solutions Partner, working to develop seamless, integrated software solutions for the Integrated Communications Provider (ICP) market. The companies share several joint customers and have implemented their integrated solution at TXU Communications, a subsidiary of TXU (NYSE:TXU), Gabriel Communications, and NetStream.
The alliance will focus on delivering convergent solutions to service providers that support both traditional circuit switched, as well as, IP voice and data services. By combining the resources of the two companies into a comprehensive solution, service providers can accurately identify the types of multimedia applications being used by their clients and offer all-inclusive billing across the broadest range of circuit switched and IP services at different rates. CGI provides convergent usage data collection and mediation interfaces between any multi-service network infrastructure and Daleen's BillPlex(R), convergent customer management and billing software, which processes the information and applies the complex rating models. Both BillPlex and CGI's Convergent Data collection and Mediation System (DCS) product share the ability to support convergent, hybrid networks including any type of packet or circuit switched infrastructure.
"We are pleased to work with a leading mediation company such as CGI," said Dave Corey, president and COO for Daleen Technologies. "CGI's product flexibility for collecting data from hybrid networks is a great fit with BillPlex, which can support any service on any network." He continued, "CGI's world-wide presence within the Tier One market will help us in providing an end-to-end solution to the ICP market on a global scale."
"Integrated Communications Providers (ICPs) have numerous types of network elements and as merger and acquisition activity increases, the need to support multiple elements will increase. CGI's partnering with vendors that can support dynamic data and communications business models is crucial," said James Meginley, COO for CGI. He stated, "Daleen is a leading player in the ICP, IP data and Applications Solutions Provider (ASP) markets, which are strategic market segments for CGI. Combining our truly convergent mediation platform with Daleen's truly convergent customer management and billing platform, provides customers with a highly flexible, streamlined solution and support for any network infrastructure, now and into the future."
Daleen and CGI are members of the Internet Protocol Detail Records (IPDR) initiative. The two companies contribute to defining standards for IP data exchange between network elements, operational support systems and business support systems. The IPDR comprises a working group of leading Internet system integrators, network providers, and billing, and equipment vendors that are working to define the IPDR format. IPDR will submit the prototype to the appropriate accredited standards body (or bodies) for acceptance by summer of 2000.
