Leader in Embedded Ethernet Technology Teams with Germany's Jetter to Make a Complete
Ethernet Connectivity Solution a Reality

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 31, 2000-- NETsilicon, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSIL - news), the leading provider
of network-enabled, system-on-chip solutions for embedded systems, today announced its role in helping launch a
manufacturing plant entirely controlled by means of Ethernet connections.

Through its NET+Works(TM) embedded networking solution, NETsilicon provided Jetter AG with the network-enabled
microprocessor and networking software to power Jetter's innovative JetWeb product. JetWeb was used to successfully launch
a pilot project to completely automate European manufacturer Sturz Maschinenbau GmbH, by bringing Ethernet
communications and control into every aspect of a complex manufacturing line for the production of plastic windows. In addition
to facilitating classical automation functions by means of digital I/Os as well as servo and stepper motor axes, the factory utilizes
the Ethernet network for user guidance, visualization and data management.

``Our collaboration with Jetter on this all-encompassing Ethernet solution underlines our commitment to bringing Ethernet and
Internet connectivity deep into the world of industrial automation,'' said Pete Peterson, NETsilicon's president and chief
executive officer. ``Jetter's use of the NET+Works system-on-chip platform for their JetWeb product demonstrates how
NETsilicon's solutions are being applied to add network connectivity to devices across the business enterprise - from the
factory floor to the boardroom.''

Martin Jetter, president and chief executive officer of Jetter AG, said, ``Never before in the history of automation technology
have the chances been as favorable for a truly open communication standard like Ethernet.'' He added, ``To date, Ethernet has
been used only at the production control level. The attractive price point of NETsilicon's integrated solution has helped us
overcome one of the key barriers: cost per node. Our success with Sturz demonstrates that our connection technology can now
reach even the most remote corners of any facility's operations.''

The NET+Works family of embedded solutions combines the NET+ARM(TM) family of ARM-based, API compatible
network microprocessor with industry-standard run-time operating systems (RTOS), drivers, protocols and services for Web,
email, FTP, flash and SNMP applications. This integrated approach offers unique scalability and production cost savings over
multi-vendor solutions.

Jetter's JetWeb technology provides a far-reaching Ethernet solution that not only connects factory floor devices, but also
reaches the individual modules of a controller to provide real-time, collison-free, point-to-point communications. JetWeb's
built-in connectivity eliminates communications hierarchies, and simplifies programming by creating a common data pool run by
a single program for an entire manufacturing plant. All of the Ethernet-controlled functions are accessible via a web browser
interface.
