Of course Allen had a right to send the fax to Ms. Stallings. Joel made it available and has no (legal) recourse in its further distribution. However, Joel was explicit about the conditions under which the information could be distributed. If Allen felt that he couldn't meet these conditions he could have declined to accept the fax up front. There was clearly an issue of breach of confidence in this case that could possibly effect Joel's standing at work and could make him less forthcoming with information in the future. That will be the real cost of this matter that Allen (and all the rest of the longs on this board) will pay. Colin
