Techplayer, Nortel has been investing heavily in optical research, technology and product development for over 5 years now. Market leadership with 65% or more market share and growing doesn't happen by itself. You can be sure that Nortel will be protecting and guarding its patents now that old technology companies like Cisco and Lucent and other Johnny come lately's are trying to play catch up with their check books. The future is optical/photonic systems and the future is now. Nortel owns that sector. teevee
