=DJ Qualcomm Dn -2: Shares Continue To Stumble On China News

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Shares of Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) climbed a slippery slope in Tuesday's session, only to slide back in early trading Wednesday.

The stock was recently down 7 3/8, or 9.7%, to 69 on volume of 37.3 million shares, compared with a daily average of 18.3 million.

Tuesday, the shares rebounded from a 9% intraday drop to close up 10 5/16, or 15.6%.

A spokeswoman said the company had no news to report.

The stock has been under pressure since last week, when The Wall Street Journal reported that Qualcomm's licensing partner in China, China Unicom, was considering not deploying the communications equipment maker's code division multiple access, or CDMA, wireless technology.
