JDSU had the greatest increase in short interest last month (Nasdaq stocks)---well after the ETEK merger was announced. To me that signals it was genuine shorting (not just ARB activity). I also noticed a huge increase in VRTS. I noticed that VRTS started making moves in the last few days and expect a bigger move in JDSU.
The move up will be even more explosive if the DOJ gives the green light.
