Manugistics Unveils ExchangeWORKS(TM) Configurable Exchange Platform for Integrated Supply Chains And Intelligent eMarketplaces

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU) today unveiled ExchangeWORKS(TM), an advanced configurable exchange platform for integrated supply chains and intelligent eMarketplaces. Developed with best of breed technology components, ExchangeWORKS extends the Manugistics WebWORKS(TM) architecture -- building a complete Manugistics- powered eBusiness trading environment.

"Manugistics ExchangeWORKS provides a comprehensive eBusiness platform configurable to client needs," said Greg Owens, Manugistics' president and CEO. "We are providing the essential components for eBusiness: intelligent engines, collaborative services, an integration platform and, now, an exchange platform."

Owens continued, "Manugistics ExchangeWORKS, the WebConnect(TM) integration platform and the NetWORKS(TM) family of products provide our clients with a comprehensive intelligent eBusiness trading environment."

ExchangeWORKS helps facilitate a sustainable, real-time trading environment that addresses key eBusiness requirements. Designed to enable recurring trade between many buyers and sellers, ExchangeWORKS helps clients develop and benefit from complex on-line business relationships. Clients are able to choose transaction capabilities such as auctions, negotiated eCommerce, dynamic pricing, procurement, track and trace, and order and pipeline visibility.

In addition, ExchangeWORKS provides the underlying foundation for these transactions with capabilities such as content aggregation, profile management and personalization, information repository, real-time alerts, integration for financial clearinghouse functions and many-to-many data and functional security. Furthermore, ExchangeWORKS' open architecture enables a modular, end-to-end eBusiness platform that can be configured to fit a client's existing technology infrastructure and integrate with other technology providers.

Many ExchangeWORKS capabilities have been implemented by FreightWise, Inc., an online marketplace that is designed to make transportation management easier, more profitable and reliable for shippers, carriers and third party providers.

"We chose Manugistics for its deep domain experience, eBusiness expertise and history of proven results to power our online marketplace for buyers and sellers of transportation services and information," said Owen Zidar, vice president of FreightWise, Inc. "ExchangeWORKS is one more validation of our belief that Manugistics has the vision and the technology to address our current requirements, and the business challenges yet to arise."

Additional technology contributors to ExchangeWORKS include BEA, BroadVision, Extricity, Intelisys, OnDisplay and others. In addition, as new eBusiness challenges and requirements emerge, Manugistics will continue to innovate and expand the capabilities of ExchangeWORKS through in-house development and alliances with leading technology innovators.
