Michael, i agree that we do not necessarily have to see a crash and burn scenario...but i don't subscribe to the theory that there won't be any bear markets anymore. stocks are at a historical overvaluation extreme right now, and that makes a painful bear market statistically more probable than it would otherwise be. in fact, the majority of stocks as measured by the non-cap weighted VGY and the a/d line has been in a vicious bear market since April of '98. it is only the big cap bubble that remains intact so far.
