A pencil has one end with an eraser, another end is without the eraser. The right end is the one without eraser. When you hold the pencil at the wrong end, it feels a little different. In systems engineering they call it "a hardware flag is set". Sorry if these technical details of systems engineering are slightly over your head. :) Regards, - Ali
