VA Linux to Provide Linux Server Solutions to Exodus' Global Customers

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 31, 2000-- VA Linux Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:LNUX - news), a recognized
leader in Linux and Open Source solutions for Internet infrastructure, today announced that it has joined the Exodus© Partnering
for Success alliance program. Under the program, VA Linux and Exodus Communications(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq:EXDS - news), a
leader in complex Internet hosting and managed services, have agreed to work together as alliance partners.

As part of the agreement, VA Linux will refer customers to Exodus for Web hosting and related managed services. In addition,
VA Linux will make its server solutions available to customers across Exodus' global network of Internet Data Center (IDC)
facilities. VA Linux offerings include ``QuickShip'' server bundles, as well as custom configurations of VA's ultra-dense
rackmount Linux servers. The two companies also plan to cooperate in joint marketing activities to target the growing Internet
infrastructure market.
