ICE, the recommended response to type I is ignoring the post.
When I'm in front of a person, she knows when I ignore her (body language etc). It is not obvious on a thread that your post is being purposely ignored. The others might just be busy, agree or find the post of little interest. We have to take active measures to convey the message "we're ignoring you".

I once posted to a thread mate "I'm ignoring you" and he hasn't replied to my posts directed to him since <g>. But there is a better way.

We send a blank message to the offender! Now one blank
message might just be a poster's mistake. But 5, all from different people and all started as 'responses' to the same offending
post? The rallying cry for this would be 'this calls for blanks'
followed by a link to the offending post.

So you thought we'd have nothing to discuss this Sunday? <G>.
