So-o-o-o glad you're back.

re: corn
Plant several rows rather than one long row. It will pollinate better that way. Corn does take up alot of space compared to the crop you get, but it's fun to grow it anyway.

My grandparents lived in Arkansas and grew vegetables on their 5 acre truck farm. They sold veggies to individuals and stores, too. My family would travel there on weekends to help work in the fields, pick crops, and help with canning and freezing for winter use. Some great memories... I remember working all morning hoeing the corn and when we'd come in for a break, grandpa had made fresh lemonade for us in a big metal washtub.
