Boiler lens is good... like that...

... started thinking that there was something a little bit like that glass around here, but I couldn't think of what it was...

Well, now I remember what it is... It's the oil level sight glass on my old scroll saw. It was my Dad's old one before I snagged it for my shop... think he got it back in the early 1950s... Has a small sight glass in the side of it so that you can see when it needs oil added... which is often these days because one of the seals in the cylinder leaks quite a bit now...

BTW, just saw a funny thing on TV show about recycling......think the show was made out east in Canada.... They showed lawnchairs made by cutting up old downhill skis and fastening them to aluminum lawnchairs!! LOL!! The "pointed ends" are used for the seat backs so they are like Adirondack chairs...and the "tail ends" are used for the seats... The wood is screwed to the aluminum framework in such a way that you can't see the aluminum underneath except for the leg sections... Really bizarre effect when a bunch of different makes of skis are used... They were just soooo cool... think I gotta try to make one!!
