sorry... bsod (blue screen of death), the fatal exception error screen.

mag, my other suggestions would be along these lines...

try the other tools on the system file checker menu, like directx diagnostic tool and version conflict.

also go for norton disk doctor... i recommend you use the option that allows for a thorough surface test, not just the normal test. try the setting that tests only the area used by files and not the entire disk.

also use norton cleansweep to purge all your cache files and dump all cookies.

lastly, remember you can use windows system configuration utility (back on the file checker menu) and click startup tab and one by one eliminate those apps you have running. this can be an effective, albeit time-consuming, troubleshooting technique.
